Windows XP End-of-Life

Got Windows XP? SignaCert can provide support after end-of-life (EOL)

With the announcement of Windows XP end of life on April 8, 2014, Microsoft has started to sunset the official support of all versions of the widely-used operating system. If you have mission-critical XP systems, unpatched systems leave you vulnerable to attacks. In addition, if your organization is driven by compliance requirements, such as PCI or HIPAA, you now need some form of compensating control to remain compliant.

Perhaps you planned to upgrade to a more current version of Windows, but discovered that your applications won’t run on that operating system or your hardware won’t accommodate it. Alternatively, you considered paying for out-of-band support but found that to be too expensive. Still, you know you must do something to keep your XP mission-critical systems secure and compliant.

How SignaCert Integrity Can Help

If you cannot upgrade to a newer Windows version, or you choose not to pay for out-of-band support, SignaCert Integrity can help protect your XP machines and be used as a compensating control to regular updates that are no longer available from Microsoft. Integrity can monitor your system and notify you of any deviations from the baseline.  For systems with a “gold image” or reference system, Integrity can ensure that every system is correct, and only notify you of incorrect changes—significantly reducing noise and helping focus attention on potential security breaches.
