How SignaCert ETS Works

SignaCert Enterprise Trust Server™ (ETS) captures, organizes, and compares what's actually running on client computers (servers and workstations) against a proven trusted reference - measuring and ensuring that the applications on your systems are deployed as intended. It does this in three simple steps:

STEP 1: HARVEST AND ORGANIZE

In the Harvesting Step each client computer (servers and/or workstations) provide software signatures to the SignaCert ETS. ETS can leverage your Active Directory or LDAP servers to make this job easier. Initial collection and subsequent updates are as simple as adding a single line to your release process scripts. This information is stored on the SignaCert ETS so it becomes independent of your enterprise.

STEP 2: VERIFY

SignaCert ETS gives you an easy-to-use console in which to select how you want to run the verification process. For example: You may want to look at the entire enterprise for a patch or just the web servers. You can target a specific software driver and its version or just the software driver. ETS compares your actual production environment against the pristine trusted reference sets you identified and shows you the deviations. The ETS also keeps historical data so you can generate reports on historical or real-time data.

STEP 3: NOTIFY AND REPORT

SignaCert notifies you of deviations through alerts and many kinds of reports. Links in the notifications let you quickly access the dashboards in the ETS console. There, you can drill down and learn more, or customize reports to your specific needs. ETS integrates with your current management solution through syslog, event log, and SNMP. ETS supports SNMP and Email notifications so you can get your alerts in almost any fashion.
