Deployment Process

Typical deployment of SignaCert Verify™ takes less than 24 hours, and less than 2 work hours. SignaCert Verify can support many different forms of software measurement to meet the demands of your IT environment. In order to get you up and running quickly, we provide a client configuration installation wizard that lets you verify one of the applications listed below:

Linux:

  • WebSphere
  • Apache HTTP Server
  • Apache Tomcat

Windows:

  • IIS Version 4
  • IIS Version 5

Once you are comfortable with how SignaCert Verify operates and how it fits your environment you can build more sophisticated references to perform a more comprehensive verification using the ETS Management Console. Additionally, SignaCert Customer Engineers are available should you need any assistance.

Initial Install

The basic setup process follows these steps:

Step 1:

Download the client--Once you’ve completed the customer information forms, we will configure a client for your environment and email you a URL to download the client. This client will be used to both capture the reference for comparison and to verify DMZ devices.

Step 2:

Capture the reference--Install the client on the device that you want to capture the reference from, in other words, the “known good machine.” The configuration wizard will create a basic policy for the application you specify. The client captures a reference of the “known good machine” and publishes it to the Verify Hosted Service for comparison.

Step 3:

Deploy the client in the DMZ--Copy the client to the DMZ devices you wish to measure. The configuration wizard creates a scheduled task/cron job that triggers the verification process either hourly or daily as you specified. Requests are sent to the hosted service for comparison with the specified reference.

Step 4:

View your results--You can view the results either in the Hosted Service or locally on the DMZ devices. You can optionally configure the client to send SNMP messages or to write to the event log or syslog allowing you to get notifications with your existing tools.

Advanced Scanning

Once you have configured the client to verify a single application, you will likely want to perform a broader verification including additional applications, files, systems or more. You can accomplish this using the Verify Hosted Service Management Console. You can create more comprehensive policies, add more devices, and view detailed reports to achieve your verification objectives.

Additionally, SignaCert’s Customer Engineer’s can help you create a more sophisticated verification strategy to ensure the most effective results.
